This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information Efficient K53 Academy ("we", "us") collects when you use our K53 learner's licence study service, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

2. What we collect
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if you give it to us for WhatsApp reminders)
- Your licence code (Code 8, 10 or 14)
- Your study progress — quiz scores, mock test results and lesson progress
- Your IP address — used to keep your account secure
3. Why we use it
- To create your account and unlock your paid access;
- To personalise your study plan and track how ready you are for the test;
- To keep your account safe and stop people sharing logins;
- To send you service emails like your payment receipt.
4. Payments
We do not see or store your card or bank details. Payments are handled by Ozow, a registered South African payment processor. Ozow handles your card/EFT data — we only receive whether the payment succeeded and a reference number.
5. How long we keep it
- Account data: 3 years.
- Payment records: 5 years, because SARS (the tax authority) requires it.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you;
- Correct anything that is wrong;
- Delete your information (where the law allows).

7. Cookies & storage
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you logged in and to save your study progress. Turning these off will break login and progress tracking.

If we change this policy, we will let you know by email or a notice in the app.
